If you love abalone but don't want to deal with hauling dive gear or slipping into the cold Pacific Ocean then this is the perfect trip for you. Join Finz & Featherz guide Mike Pappa in one of the most beautiful places in California, the north coast of Mendocino County.

This trip begins at a campground on the coast of Mendocino. After arriving into camp, you will be greeted by your host as one of our staff shows you to your fully setup camp. After settling in you can enjoy a great meal and meet new friends. After dinner we will have a short meeting to discuss what to expect, the laws and what to do to ensure everyone's safety. Wake up Saturday to nice hot breakfast then it's off to a great morning of abalone hunting.

We work hard to ensure everyone gets opportunities to find abalone but remember, by California law you must harvest it yourself. We can not help you in any way to "pop your abs." As the morning subsides we head back to camp for lunch and to clean the abalone. There's usually a few hours to kill so while we prepare dinner you can spend your afternoon checking out the old town of Mendocino or visiting beautiful landmarks and beaches. Enjoy an evening of dinner by the campfire and watching the sunset on the beautiful coast of Mendocino. We'll show you how to clean, cut and prepare your abalone.
